Introduction: The Tenda N301 Router

In March of 2017, I had reached my limit with my old router: constant disconnects, constant lag, constant loss of signal and constant freezing. I decided to check out Houston’s Microcenter for a deal on a dual-band router. After searching for a router and finding the highly rated and recommended ones too expensive, I happened to stumble upon this router: the Tenda N301.

While it was not a dual-band router, the Tenda N301 was still a wireless 802.11n router. While it did not boast all the great features of the other routers, the Tenda N301 was available at the time for only six dollars; yes, $6!
After seeing this price and noticing it was my birthday that day, I decided to buy one of these routers in hopes that my annoying Internet problems would finally be put to rest. This product achieved just that: I am happy to say that my Internet problems have gone away!
Then why does this tutorial exist? This tutorial exists because an undocumented problem appeared and the documentation that came with the manual was completely useless. It is my hope that the information in this tutorial documenting the solution to problem can assist anyone with a similar one. It is also my hope that this tutorial is useful in the event that you buy a router and have its manual missing too!
